The
34th Ontario-Québec Physical Organic Mini-symposium
was
held in the Département
de chimie, de l' Université de Montréal,
on November 10-12, 2006. It was expertly
organized
by Jeff
Keillor, Will
Skene (both of U de M) and Michelle
Chrétien (of Concordia University). The Website

On the Friday
evening
the opening mixer
and registration were held at "Les Trois
Brasseurs",
a brew-pub at 1356, rue Ste.-Catherine Ouest, in downtown
Montreal.

The meeting went off smoothly with 110 official registrants. On the program side, there were 41 posters and 24 oral presentations. The vast majority of the talks were given using Powerpoint presentations - just one using overheads. Unlike last year, there were a few minor presentation errors most likely due to problems of PC-Mac compatibility or to the use of different versions of the software. | |||
Again, as we have come to expect at POMs, the standard
of the
presentations given by students and post-docs was very
high and so choosing the prize winners was
a difficult task. The four deserving winners were:

About 80 people attended a classy Banquet on the Saturday evening, held at the restaurant, "Le Parchemin", in downtown Montreal. Photos can be seen HERE . |
