POMs banner


The 28th POMs was held at Concordia University in Montreal for the first time on Nov 3 - 5, 2000.   It was organized by Ossie TeeHeidi Muchall and Jeff Keillor (then at l'U de Montreal).

The 29th POMs was held on November 2-4, 2001, at York University, in Toronto.

The chief organizer was Ed Lee-Ruff and about 120 people attended.

The 30th POMs was held on November 1-3, 2002, in Windsor, Ontario. 

It had been organized by Phil Dutton, Holger Eichhorn and Jim Green of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, University of Windsor.

U of T

The 31st POMs was held on November 7-9, 2003 in the new wing of the Department of Chemistry, University of Toronto.  It was superbly organized by Sue and Bob McClelland

There were ~80 registrants, 23 talks and 25 posters. The Banquet held in Hart House was especially fine.

The 32nd POMswas held at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, on November 12-14, 2004 - and very good it was too!  It was skillfully organized by Bob Lemieux and friends.

The 33rd POMs was held at McMaster University, in Hamilton, ON, November 11-13, 2005.

The organizers were:  Nick Werstiuk, Paul Berti, and Willie Leigh

POMs 34 was held in the Departement de chimie, U. de Montreal, on November 10-12, 2006.

It was organized by Jeff Keillor, Will Skene (U de M) and Michelle Chretien (Concordia University).

The 35th POMs was held at the  University of Waterloo, ON, on November 9-11, 2007.  

It was organized by  Monica Barra (Waterloo) and  Ken Maly (Wilfrid Laurier U.).

Tito Scaiano's group hosted the 36th POMs in Ottawa, held on November 14-16, 2008.

The 37th POMs was held for the second time at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo on November 13-15, 2009.

It was skillfully organized by the dynamic duo of Tina Amyes and John Richard..

The 38th POMs was held on November 12-14, 2010, at the University of  Guelph, in Ontario. 

It was organized by Richard Manderville and his graduate student Katie Schlitt. There were 99 registrants and the program included 44 posters and 24 oral presentations.

In part, the meeting was dedicated to the memory of the late Jerry Kresge (1926-2010).

Peter Guthrie
The 39th POMs was held at Western University in London, Ontario, on November 4-6, 2011.

It was skillfully organized by Peter Guthrie, with the assistance of his charming wife Muriel, and his "young" colleague Mark Workentin.

The 40th POMs was held at Queen's University, Kingston, ON, November 2-4, 2012.  It was organized by Jean-Michel Nunzi, helped by his wife Gabriela and graduate student Thomas Kraft.

The meeting opened with the 2012 J. Phys. Org. Chem. Award Lecture, given by Shih-Yuan Liu of the Department of Chemistry, University of Oregon.

The 60 participants provided 22 posters and 26 talks.  The meeting website was - here.  
Heidi Muchall

The 41st POMs was held at Concordia University, in Montreal, on  November 1-3, 2013.

It was organized by Heidi Muchall, with the help of Denise Koch, Philippe Archambault, Stephen Boateng, and Gilles Peslherbe
