Lecture 14: Two-Sample Testing

October 29th, 2024 (8th week of classes)

Two-sample testing and associated study designs
In this lecture, we will deepen our understanding of how sample size influences statistical hypothesis testing. A key takeaway is that larger sample sizes increase the statistical power of tests. Additionally, we will explore different study designs, including paired and independent designs, and examine the corresponding statistical testing frameworks for studies involving two samples.

Types of study designs (paired samples versus independent samples). The paired t-test for comparing two (non-independent) sample means.
